Please feel free to invite family and friends to follow this blog... the more the merrier.
A couple things to bring up real quick...
1. Parents, if you have not signed up to help contribute drinks, snacks, signs, etc to the team on game days, please see Dezirae Tiznado or Cami Rodgers ASAP to get signed up. Thank you! (and thanks to Dezirae and Cami for volunteering as team moms)
2. If you want 'West Point Black Knights' window stickers please order them ASAP. I have order forms if needed.
3. If you want pre-made signs please see Jenn Thompson to order those ASAP.
4. Please make sure the boys wear black socks or those short ankle socks that do not show. No white or red socks PLEASE!! :)
Now, about football...
The coaches really feel like this team is coming along and has great potential. We had a good scrimmage game on Tuesday against a team that made the playoffs last year.
We feel like we are getting the positions solidified for game 1 and getting the boys into the positions where they can best help the team be successful. Our new offense with our new quarterback is coming along faster than I anticipated and the offensive line looks great!
Defensively we feel we will be about as good as anyone in the league.
With that said, we do have 2 very tough teams on our schedule with our first two non-conference games so it will be a nice solid test early in the season. Our goal is to continually get better each week.
Parents: Please remember to be patient with the players, officials and coaches and to cheer loudly but in a positive manner. And please refrain from "coaching" from the sidelines. It only confuses the boys.
Players: Remember, give your best effort 100% of the time and trust in your teammates and coaches. Do YOUR job and trust they will all do their job! If you do that, success will follow!
Play hard, hit hard, be aggressive and have fun on the field!
We are WINNERS on this team and YOU are the best player on the field!!
Again, welcome to the blog. Post often and lets have a great year!!
Coach Rob
Thank you Rob!! It is obvious to see how much the boys love and respect you. You demand the best, and they respond by giving you their all. You have a powerful presence that uplifts and inspires the players to do things even they never thought possible. We are lucky as parents to have such a positive role model for our boys, and I'm sure other parents would agree when I say THANK YOU for all you do!!
